How to use DocuSign in custom Schwab PDF templates.

Updated over a week ago

To use your firm's DocuSign account for obtaining electronic signatures, and routing signed forms to Schwab, please send a request to advisorsowndocusign@schwab.com or contact your Schwab Relationship Manager.

The team at Schwab will walk you through the process and provide all the necessary resources along the way.

Your DocuSign account must allow you to create and send envelopes with SMS authentication enabled.

If you plan on mapping a custom Schwab form not provided in our PDF Template Library, please make sure that it is eligible for digital signature.

Note: Using your own DocuSign account without approval from Schwab will result in your forms being rejected. When using our PDF engagements and setting the e-Signature provider as DocuSign (Schwab Workflow), the envelope created will be automatically CC'ed to Schwab. This is coded into the system and cannot be changed.

Your DocuSign account must allow you to create and send envelopes with SMS authentication enabled.

Once you have installed the PDF template, enabled the DocuSign integration, grouped and named the fields and added eSignature signature elements to the PDF, you can then choose the provider of the PDF. For more information on grouping and naming PDF fields, click here.

Click to add a new field in the upper right corner

Make the appropriate selection from the "E-signature Fields" section.

You will choose which party will sign each section when creating the engagement. For more information on creating engagements with PDF Templates, click here.
