Document Upload Elements

Allows clients/prospects to upload multiple documents

Updated over a week ago

Please Note: There is a 32 MB limit per file that is uploaded with a limit of 100 MB total. If client uploads exceed this limit in the engagement, further files will not be uploaded.

Types of files accepted for upload: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .bmp, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, .txt, .zip, .pdf, .csv

Open your desired template in the template editor.  Once in the editor, navigate to the page/group where you wish to add the document upload element.

Once located, you'll want to create a new cell to add your element into if you do not already have an empty cell present.  To add a new cell, click on an existing element where you'll see arrows pointing to the left or below. You can choose where you would like this new element to go. (In this example I am going to choose to add it below the existing row of elements.)

You'll then see an empty cell on your template.

Click in the empty cell then click on the + icon.

If you're adding to a high security level template, you can choose an existing connected upload element from the dataset (documents would then store to the clients profile as well) or you can create a brand new template element. (For this example I am going to create a brand new element)

Choose document upload

Next, you'll want to create a title for your upload element.  This is usually a description of what type of documents you're looking for from your client (i.e., Please upload a paystub here, Please upload your account statements here, etc) but it can say whatever you would like it to say.

You can even make the element mandatory so that your client cannot submit their engagement without uploading something into this element.  You can also select what type of files you want to allow within your document upload. It defaults to have everything selected as seen below but if you do not want to accept a certain file you can simply uncheck the box.

Once you're done click on the create button.  You'll now see the upload element on your template.

This will automatically add an add more button on the engagement for the client thus allowing them to add multiple documents within the same upload element once the first document has been uploaded.

(Clients point of view): The client has the ability to either select a file from somewhere on their device or drag and drop to upload. Once uploaded, they can click the red 'X' next to an uploaded file to remove it.

Note: If you add the element in the dataset, the files that your client attaches will be accessible in the client profile. If they are template elements only, the files will be stored in the engagement. Please view this tutorial to see the difference. You can also view this tutorial to see how to view attached documents.
