Redtail Integration Overview

With our integration partner, Redtail, you can send information and also receive information into your PreciseFP account.

Updated this week

To turn on this integration (only needs to be done once in PreciseFP, you do not need to set up the integration in Redtail) go to Settings on the left side navigation (your picture) then click on Integrations.  Click on the Redtail box.

Click on Enable this integation

Enter in your Redtail credentials then click on the Enable button.

You should now see the Redtail integration as enabled and a message showing it was enabled successfully at the top.

To import data from Redtail into PreciseFP

Importing tips: If you are unable to find your client in the search make sure that they are listed as head of household in Redtail and that they also have an email address on file that is marked as preferred.  If one or both of those are missing they will not show up as an available record to import.

For an account to properly map into PreciseFP from Redtail it's type and tax qualified type must match according to this chart.

Click on Accounts then All Accounts.  Click on the + icon in the upper right hand corner.

Click on the Import tab, choose if you are importing a prospect or client then click on Redtail.

Enter in the clients last name to import. **Importing tips: If you are unable to find your client in the search make sure that they are listed as head of household in Redtail and that they also have an email address on file that is marked as preferred.  If one or both of those are missing they will not show up as an available record to import.**

Once you locate you client check the box to the left of their name and then click on the Import button.

Any data that you have on file for the client in the mappable areas will indicate how many came over to PreciseFP successfully.  Click on the Close button when you're done reviewing.

You're client will now show on your accounts list.  Click on their name to open the Account Details and then click on Profile to view their data.

To Export Data to Redtail

Go to Accounts.  You can either click on Prospects or Clients or search for the client in the search area.  Once you've located the person you want to export click on their name and then click on the Export button on their account details panel.

Click on Redtail

In this case the client is not linked to any records in Redtail yet.  If I know I already have a record for him/her in Redtail I can enter their last name in the search bar and link them.  Otherwise if they are brand new I can check to box to the left of Create a new record in Redtail and click on export.

You'll then be able to see a record of all accounts that went over for the client/prospect.  Once done click on the close button.

You'll be able to see a log of the export on the clients timeline as well.

**Best practice tips:  Since the integration is bi-directional, it's best to import an existing client record from Redtail into PreciseFP.  This creates the link to the already existing record and will also bring over any data (that's mappable) from Redtail into PreciseFP so that if you send out the Redtail fact finder, for example, it would come prepopulated with data automatically when presented to the client and when you do an export back, since you have the connection to their already existing record in Redtail, any new or changed data will be all that is sent to the Record vs. creating duplicates.
