Importing From the Dataset

Import elements, groups, or pages from your subscription's Dataset into your Form Templates instantly

Updated yesterday

Overview

A full breakdown on the Dataset can be found here. It is a best practice recommendation to bring pieces of the Dataset into your templates, including any elements, groups, or pages you'd like to create custom.

When working in the Form Template Editor, you can quickly import an element, group, or page from your PreciseFP Dataset. When something is imported from the Dataset, its connection imports, too. This means you can bring pieces of the Dataset into your template knowing that they will pre-fill with known information and save to the correct location in the PreciseFP Account Profile.

When adding a new element, group, or page, it will default to a 'Blank' tab, but you can switch to the 'Import From' > 'The Dataset' tab within each option:

Adding a new element.

Adding a new group.

Adding a new page.

Example

When adding a new group to my page, I can import the 'Driver's License' group as it is pre-built from the Dataset:

Clicking to add this group to my page will bring it into my template with every field connected properly and then we can edit to our liking:

Tips

  • If you've created something custom or like a part of the Dataset, you can bring it in its entirety over to your template via import. This cannot be done the other way around. If you create the field on your template, you must then also create the field in the Dataset manually and connect the two.

  • Your templates should always match your Dataset, not the reverse.

  • Information classified as high security cannot be imported from the Dataset into a low security form template.

  • When importing elements or groups, the page type (co-client enabled or not) and the group type (Add More enabled or not) must match in order for the piece to import.

No Dataset Access

Within PreciseFP, some users may not have access to view the Dataset. In this instance, we recommend opening a client/prospect Account Profile to see what the Dataset entails. Every element, group, and page in the Account Profile exists in the Dataset.
